Terms
Last updated 18 October 2026
These are the terms for using Booked & Busy, the booking and admin app for makeup and hair artists. We've kept them short and in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@bookedandbusy.app and a real person will answer.
The short version: you get 30 days of everything in Pro, free, with no card. After that, Starter is £15 a month or £132 a year, and Pro is £25 a month or £250 a year. If you don't subscribe, your account is paused: you can still log in and work with the jobs you already have, but you can't add new ones until you subscribe. We keep a paused account's data for 3 months, then delete it. Your bookings and your clients' details are yours, not ours.
1. Who we are
Booked & Busy is operated by Alfie Tilley, trading as Booked & Busy, of 34 Suffolk Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 5DD, United Kingdom. Alfie runs it with Ria. "We", "us" and "our" in these terms means Alfie Tilley trading as Booked & Busy. You can contact us at hello@bookedandbusy.app, and formal notices can be sent to the address above.
2. Who these terms are for
These terms are between us and you, the artist who creates a Booked & Busy account. You use Booked & Busy for your business. Your clients don't have an account with us: when you send them a quote, contract or invoice link, the agreement for the booking is between you and them.
You need to be 18 or over to open an account, and the details you give us need to be accurate. Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
3. The 30-day free trial
- Every new account starts with a free trial of everything in Pro. It ends at 23:59 UK time on the thirtieth day after you sign up. Trials that were already running on 18 October 2026 were extended to end on 17 November 2026.
- No card is needed and nothing is charged during the trial, or afterwards unless you choose to subscribe.
- We'll email you two days before your trial ends and on the last day.
- One free trial per artist. We may extend a trial, for example while we're still importing your bookings.
4. Plans and subscribing
- There are two plans. Starter costs £15 a month or £132 a year. Pro costs £25 a month or £250 a year and includes everything in Starter plus the extra features listed on our pricing page; features marked "coming soon" are not yet available, and we don't charge more for them arriving. If you're billed in US dollars or euros, you pay the equivalent price shown at checkout.
- You can move between Starter and Pro at any time from the app. The change takes effect straight away and Stripe adjusts what you pay for the rest of your billing period.
- Starting-out discount: if you take fewer than 20 bookings a month, you can ask for 50% off your first year on an annual plan. We decide each request ourselves. Once approved, the discount applies to your first annual payment only.
- Prices are as shown. Booked & Busy is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added. If that changes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it affects what you pay.
- Payments are taken by Stripe, in advance, at the start of each month or year, and your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
- If you subscribe with at least two days of your free trial left, the rest of your trial carries over and your first payment is taken when the trial ends.
- If we ever change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before then.
- Special offers (such as Founding Artist places or a free month for referring a friend) have their own conditions, set out on the offer itself. Where they differ from these terms, the offer's conditions apply.
5. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel any time in the app under Settings → Plan & account → Manage billing. Your plan carries on until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your account is paused.
- Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase. If you ask within 14 days of a payment being taken, by emailing hello@bookedandbusy.app, we'll refund that payment in full and your subscription ends.
- After 14 days we don't refund part-used months or years, except where the law says we must. If something has gone wrong, talk to us and we'll be fair.
6. Paused accounts
If your trial ends without a subscription, your subscription ends, or a payment still hasn't gone through 14 days after it was due, your account is paused.
- Still works: logging in, viewing and editing your existing jobs and clients, sending quotes, invoices and messages on those jobs, your clients' links (including paying you), your enquiry form, which keeps collecting enquiries into your inbox, and exporting your data.
- Paused: adding new jobs, including turning an enquiry into a booking.
- Subscribe at any time and everything carries on where you left off.
- We keep a paused account's data for 3 months from the day it was paused. If you haven't subscribed by then, we permanently delete the account and everything in it: your jobs, clients, quotes, invoices, contracts, enquiries and uploaded files. This can't be undone. We usually email you about 7 days before. We keep only a record that an account was deleted and when, plus anything we must keep by law, such as records of what you've paid us. You can export your data at any time before then.
7. Your data and your clients' data
- Your bookings, documents and client list belong to you. For your clients' details, you're in charge of the data and we look after it on your behalf. Our Privacy Policy explains how.
- You're responsible for having a good reason to hold your clients' details and for what you send them through Booked & Busy.
- You can export your data any time, and ask us to close your account. We delete your data within 30 days of closing, apart from anything we must keep by law.
8. Importing your bookings for you
During your trial and on any plan, you can send us your existing bookings (a spreadsheet, screenshots, an export) and we'll set your upcoming jobs up for you, free. We reply within 24 hours. Please check what we've imported: we do our best, but you know your bookings better than we do. Paused accounts need to subscribe first.
9. Things you send to your clients
Quotes, contracts, invoices and messages you send through Booked & Busy are from you, not us. Contract templates and AI suggestions in the app are a starting point, not legal or professional advice, so read them before you send them.
If you take card payments, they go through your own Stripe account, under Stripe's terms with you. We don't take a fee from them.
10. Fair use
Please don't use Booked & Busy to send spam, for anything unlawful, to try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, or to resell the service. If someone does, we may suspend their account, and we'll tell them why unless the law or safety stops us.
11. Keeping it running
We work hard to keep Booked & Busy available and your data safe and backed up, but like any online service it may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance. We'll tell you in advance about planned downtime where we can.
12. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
- Otherwise, we're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost business or lost profits, and our total responsibility to you, for everything, is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that affects you meaningfully, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows when they last changed.
14. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute.
